Building The Myar
Established
The Myar opera house was first established by Henry W. Myar, a German immigrant that moved to Camden, Arkansas as a child and had lived there all of his life. Henry Myar was an exceedingly wealthy, rich cotton farmer and banker for most of his life prior to the Opera House’s creation.
Though Henry Myar lived in Arkansas, Myar was persuaded by his sister in law's husband, Herman Kayser, to use his money to invest in an opera house way down south in El Paso.
